A God Who Is “Both/And”
Nahum 1:1-11
It’s hard to read Nahum and avoid the question of the LORD and anger. How can the prophet speak like that? Can the Triune God Himself really be that angry? How do you make sense of that sort of anger and “God is love”? When Jesus said He came to fulfill and not abolish the Law and the Prophets, could He include Nahum? By God’s grace, questions can often be the doorway to some clarity, insight, and answers. -

Jonah, Nahum & Nineveh
Passages from Jonah and NahumIn the small books of Jonah and Nahum, we see how God interacts with the people of Nineveh. These messages invite us into the tension of living with the truth that Yahweh is both “slow to anger” and “will not leave the guilty unpunished.”

Nahum: God's Judgment
Nahum 1: 1-8Join us as we continue our summer sermon series journey through the 12 Minor Prophets titled "Into the Heart of God." This week, we consider the word of the LORD from the prophet Nahum as he prophesies judgment against the Assyrian capital of Nineveh. We will wrestle with the tension found throughout the scriptures between God's mercy and God's judgment. What can this book teach us about this tension when read within the broader witness of scripture? How do these words find meaning in our context thousands of years later?

Nahum 1:6-11
Join us at the Table on Monday evening at 6:30 in the Boathouse as we prayerfully consider and explore together the prophet Nahum's message to Ninevah. We will fellowship together, pray together, wrestle with Nahum 1:6-11 together, and celebrate our unity in Christ together at the Lord's Table.
